2-way traffic for .95 mile from aid station to Post 5, against Section D-Yellow. Hard left turn at post 5. Grungy horse trails. Ultra stays out of Satan’s swamps this year. Easy rail trail finish. 2-way traffic against Section D-Yellow before mini Aid station at Jessica's Joint, new exchange, no more school.

2-way traffic against Section C-blue from aid on rail trail to hard left. Wicked hill section includes the Stripper Pole slide and Dirt Ladder climb. Scenic series of ridge running and drops. Rerouted for less time on the horse trails: watch closely for new turns. Last .95 mile, from Post 5 to Aid Station is 2-way traffic in opposition of Section C- Blue.

E - Styx, River of Death View Print
First mile & a half has 2-way traffic in opposition of Section B-White. The path to Hell is the river of death, “Styx”. Your tormented soul is ours. Life jacket or swim wings optional. If a shoe comes off, just reach into the mud, there are plenty of them in there. The Hell Hole Bar is a good place to mail a postcard for the HELL postmark! Bag Drop zone at end of section. Move your used bag to the Drop Dead Bag zone for return to Half Moon.

At end of parking lot, follow PINK, left. (PAY ATTENTION: pink and white for the relay go left; TURN RIGHT!) Begin with some suspicious looking stuff in The Abyss and Death by Mosquitoes: good opportunities to sprain an ankle. Pop out onto the Poto and merge with Relay to the aid station. Aid station at end of single track.

Continues with Relay-11, pink. Truck on down some gravel road, eventually to rejoin the Vertigo we all know & love. There’ll be some nasty downhills that may give you vertigo. Portions of nice trail, hill climbs, off trail running and flat ending. Open areas can be hot.

A new, fast paced section on some areas not used since 2001. Nice dirt roads, wide Waterloo-Pinkney trail and a bit of nonsense. SW exit The Farm then nice out & back on a dirt road and fast trail.

Careful attention to turns as some are sharp and it's really a bad time to go off course. Merges with Section G for last ¾ mile on the Crooked Lake Trail. As you enter Half Moon stay to the left along the lake side to 50M finish. Relay stays right.
